Re: Dr. Charles Tisdale Honorarium Day - Jackson, Mississippi
To all these greetings shall come,
It is with pleasure that we are thankful to announce the Honorarium Committee decision to bestow honor with respect in our highest honor within our power to bestow upon the Dr. Charles Tisdale. He has qualify before this committee as a candidate for the degree of Honorarium Doctor of Humanities Degree with all respect and regard in our power to bestow.
The faculty, staff and administration of the College upon examination, evaluation and recommendation have selected him for this high degree and office. The untiring and dedicated years of service of this Man as a humanitarian is unquestionably a testimony to us of an unselfish and committed life to community service. Dr. Tisdale have often gone beyond his call of duty and have serve the Community of Jackson, Mississippi and its surrounding areas over these many years of untiring labor. As chief newspaper editor, he and his wife have built 'living legacy' through their devotion to the cause truth, justice and the free press. His call of duty and accomplishment in the Name of "Good will for all men" is above reproach and challenge. There has been no single man since the days of civil rights struggle with the Dr. Martin L. King and Mr. Merger Evers, such a consuming passion expressed for the equality of black people and all men as that of Dr. Charles Tisdale. Dr. Tisdale must be given his flowers while he lives and can smell them. We have paused this day to give him the honor due him and for his years of service.
We appreciate the support and present of many of you in the city of Jackson for the of declaration of November 9, 2003 as the Dr. Dr. Charles Tisdale's Day. The PROCLAMATION from the Mayor's office and the RESOLUTION from Jackson City Council serves an icon to our community of the enduring life of Dr. Tisdale as a Social, Community and Humanitarian servant given over this years. Dr. Charles Tisdale has enhanced this city with an unduplicated leadership for the human's cause.
We, the Payne Bible College along with the Jackson Advocate acknowledges this day as Dr. Charles Tisdale's Day of Honor. May the meaning of this day carry a torch to all in the cause of humanity for justice . We salute you Dr.Charles Tisdale for a job well done and the present task completed. When it is all over may the light of all our lives shine a little brighter for having known you and been privileged to serve with you.
